I strongly believe in and support efforts of legitimate groups whose mission is to feed people. Too many folks these days have to decide if they can pay the rent/mortgage or buy food for their children and spouse! Very sad and disturbing situation. Think about having to make a decision like this. We have way too many homeless folks and too many working people who are dirt poor. How many of these poor kids go to bed with an empty stomach and have to get up in the morning and go to school? We were dirt poor when I was a kid but I fortunate enough to always have something to eat, a roof over my head and my Mom’s love but not much else. Many of these needy kids have none of what I had.
My suggestion is simple go into your pantry and clean some stuff which is still good and folks who have little can eat and enjoy. I have already started this process at our home and I have box of food ready to go after I add more stuff. Non-perishable and or canned goods always work for any food drive. Pay it forward by helping needy individuals and families.
