The City of Kissimmee and Kissimmee Main Street host the 19th Annual Kissimmee Sunshine Regional Chili Cook-off! This year will also include a Beer Festival! Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 21st from 12pm-4pm. You won't want to miss it!
Competitors from across the state of Florida and throughout the Nation will showcase their chili cooking skills at this International Chili Society sanctioned event. Participants battle for cash prizes in several competitive categories including Red Chili, Chili Verde, Salsa, Home-style and People’s Choice. Spectators can participate by casting their vote for the People’s Choice Award from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Local dignitaries, experienced chili judges and event sponsors will judge the chili.
The event offers over $2,500 in cash prizes, including $800 for the 1st place Red Chili Winner. The competition is open to the public and pre-registration is required to be a competitor.
This year’s event will also feature the Florida Beer Festival, which will provide over 30 beers for spectators to sample. Tickets for the Beer showcase are $20 and allows for sampling of the craft beers showcased as part of the Beer Festival.
Festival sponsor KUA will provide a Kid Power Zone including bounce houses and activities for children, and the festival will also feature live music and entertainment.
