Gadsden County offers visitors and residents a taste of Old Florida, with the opportunities of the 21st century. There are old-fashioned towns that will take you back to an age of hospitality and tranquility. There are pristine woodlands and waters that will let you take a peek at nature the way it was created. And there are thriving businesses that are tucked in the midst of a quiet county, yet minutes away from a bustling state capital.

It can be said that Gadsden County offers the best of both worlds. With I-10 traveling through the heart of the county, and rail lines throughout, Gadsden County has become an ideal site to visit. It is located approximately 300 miles south of Atlanta, 20 miles west of Tallahassee, and just an hour’s drive to the white sands of the Gulf Coast.

With rolling hills and ancient live oak trees draped in Spanish moss, Gadsden County echoes of a bygone era. Picturesque roadways meander through the county and lead to fine art galleries, historic tobacco barns, outdoor murals, and historic landmarks. Whether you are an outdoors enthusiast, or searching for an antique lamp, you will find the perfect hunting ground in Gadsden County.

So don’t be surprised if you do find everything you are looking for in Gadsden County. When the original settlers came here in the early 1800s, they found the ideal place, and folks today will say the same thing. Gadsden County is the perfect place to visit!

My ancestors settled in Gadsden County in the year 1821.  I have a deed signed by President John Quincy Adams, to my great great great grandfather, Augustus Lanier.
