In case you're wondering where your children might attend school:
Elementary school age children go to the Okatie Elementary School which is very highly rated and was named a National Blue Ribbon School. Located off of Highway 170 it's only 5 miles away. Okatie Elementary enjoys a terrific relationship with some Sun City residents who have worked with the children to create a garden from which the cafeteria periodically uses the vegetables that the kids grow!
Middle school aged children attend HE McCracken Middle School just five miles away on the Bluffton School Campus off of Buckwalter Parkway.HE McCracken is named after the first Mayor of Bluffton and has a wonderful relationship with the close by Early Childhood Development building and the middle schoolers learn how to help the little ones with reading and social skills.
High schoolers attend Bluffton High School. It too is on the Bluffton School Campus and only 5 miles away. The High School has great facilities for track and they have won the state cross country championships four years running (no pun intended). The high schoolers are very active in the community. Both Okatie Elementary and Bluffton High School were semi-finalists for the 2014 Palmetto's Finest Schools awards. The schools are nominated based on their strong academics, outstanding leadership and staff, and commitment by parents.
