Cedar Park is sweet on the Sweet Shack! I love supporting local business owners and I know most Cedar Park residents do as well.
If you haven't visited the Sweet Shack Candy Shop on Bell Boulevard, go! The owners are residents in Cedar Park and have brought something special for us to enjoy. Not only do they have some great, hard to find candy - like Dr. Pepper licorice (yum). But, they also sell items made locally.
Did you know that some of the best caramel you will ever have is made right here in Cedar Park? I stopped by the Sweet Shack this morning to discuss the plans the city has for redeveloping the area. It was my lucky day because the owner gave me a sample of some Coover Caramels. Hand made sweetness right there in Cedar Park.
We all know the slogan, Keep Austin Weird. But do you know what that really means? It was designed to keep Austinites supporting local business. As homeowners we frequently complain that we don't like big box, generic choices for dining and shopping. If we want local mom & pops to survive then we need to shop there!
Cedar Park's new slogan is "Got It in Cedar Park". Which means support your city's tax revenue by shopping in town. How about we extend it to mean go shop at a local store, in Cedar Park.
