Stinky’s 5th annual Pompano Tournament, which has become a beloved yearly tradition among local and visiting fishermen, will kick off with an anniversary celebration and Big Captain’s Party on April 1. A sumptuous crawfish boil at Stinky’s Fish Camp begins at 3PM then at 9PM, a party complete with birthday cake will happen to celebrate the restaurant’s 8th year in 30A. Enjoy live music from The Steenos and Washboard Jackson and Forrest Williams Band from 6PM to 1AM. The tournament runs from April 1 to May 1 with weigh-ins at Stinky’s bait Shack and $2,000 cash prizes to be given to the 1st through 5th placers.
April 5, 2015 -Duck Olympics
Kids and adults will marvel at the sight of 5,000 rubber duckies racing around a pond in Seaside. This first ever Duck Olympics will be held on Easter Sunday (April 5, 2015) and will benefit the Special Olympics Florida of Walton County. Participants will be able to adopt a duck, or even an entire flock, and cheer them on as a current of 4 miles per hour races them around a lazy river on Lyceum Lawn in Seaside. This is a great new event in 30A and residents of homes along 30A are encouraged to attend and support this cause while having fun for the entire family.
April 11, 2015 - 4th Annual Artful Night Under the Stars
Enjoy some barbecue and brews under the stars in your best cowboy attire for a celebration at the Grayton Beer Company from 6PM to 10PM. Tickets are $45 for single admission and $400 for premium 10-seater tables. This includes bottomless Grayton Beer Original on tap, Barefoot BBQ, and live music by The Courtyard Saints. Proceeds from the event and auction will benefit the Tree house Episcopal Montessori School.
April 11, 2015 - 2nd Annual 30A Sand Rover Rally
Bring your beach cruiser or land rover to the 2nd Annual 30A Sand Rover Rally brought to you by Land Rover Gulf Coast to be held at the Grayton Beach State Park on April 11, 2015. Last year’s inaugural 30A Sand Rover Rally was featured in the ROVERS summer 2014 issue. This year, editors of ROVERS magazine will be there again so make sure your land rover or beach cruiser is in top shape!
April 16-19, 2015 - Sandestin Wine Festival
The 29th Annual Sandestin Wine Festival happens on April 16-19, 2015 at Baytowne Wharf. Named the “Best Annual Event” by Destin Magazine, the Annual Sandestin Wine Festival is 4 days of unique events which gives guests a wide range of experiences and opportunities to learn and discover more about wines, attend wine dinners with celebrity chefs, participate in preview events throughout the year, and take part in wine tastings featuring hundreds of wines in all their varieties and styles.
