This is the 58th annual Mothers Day weekend event, being held Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, 2015.
This is a great way to tour and spend the day; and is sponsored by the Capitol Hill Restoration Society.
Each year, different homes are used. This year, and I copy this from their website:
The Tour starts at the back side of the United States Supreme Court and runs east to Eighth Street and north to E Street. We have an outstanding collection of houses this year in a wide array of periods and styles, many with unusual details. There is a wood frame home from shortly after the Civil War, brick Dutch Tudors, Victorian bay fronts, and Federal styles. (from http://chrs.org/house-and-garden-tour/more-about-the-house-tour-2015/)
People on this tour are usually locals, who truly enjoy the benefits and history of living in Capitol Hill. This group offers many recurring talks & tours. Do yourself a favor, check them out and become fully immersed in this community.
