When They Resource Me, But Done Allow Me To Sell Them A Home?

One of the downsides to being a thoroughly knowledgeable, well seasoned, and perceived as a very successful Realtor, is potential Clients who know me well will use my expertise to help them in their decision making process to move, and use me as a gauge to keep the Realtor they intend to work with in-check to insure they serve them with the highest professional standard possible.

This can happen when in the Buying process Buyers fear I may discover more personal information than they prefer me to know.  I easily remedy this concern by in our initial conversation, I assure them I would prefer they get pre-approved with a Lender I know and trust, and the only thing I really need to know is the target price range fitting within their budget.  In reality, I get to serve numerous diversity of Valued Clients all the time, and although I care deeply about serving them well, personal information is just information to me, because I have so many details to remember in a transaction, it is just too much of a burden for me to retain personal information Clients fear I may remember or share about them.

Sometimes they fear if something goes wrong in a transaction, a friendship may be lost, or they may have to endure emotional hardship.  They believe it is easier when they don't really know their Realtor?  I like to build partnerships with my Valued Clients I care about what is most important to them.  While my goal is to guide them down the smoothest road to accomplishing their goal, I value their thought process, and their input.

Then, there are times when I just have to accept they may just don't like me, or don't like working with me? 

Gladys Knight, helped me understand this reality in business when she shared a story about when her and other Motwn Artists were socializing over at Berry Gordy's home.  He confided in her he felt she was a good singer, but all he could hear in his ear at the time was Diana Ross.  Imagine Gladys hearing this from the one person she really needed to take a devoted interest into making her career thrive? 

Times when I visit a store and decide to not make a purchase at that time, I remind myself to not get upset when a potential Client does this to me.  Still, Imagine how I feel when selling houses is how I make a living, and I am so conveniently used as a resource?  Please, in return for my kindness, be my resource for endless referrals.  Thanks
