Fairfax County Public Schools

Upon doing blog research for an upcoming single family listing our team is presenting in Fairfax, I ran across some nationally recognized accolades on the nearby Middle and High Schools that I thought were worth a re-mention (for those who did not grow up in Northern VA, as I did). WOW!

What you may or may not know about Fairfax Schools

Most agents and realtors are aware that the Fairfax County Public School system is well known and highly desirable. Frost Middle and Woodson High Schools are considered to be among the top schools in Northern Virginia.  In fact, Frost Middle School has been named within the top 1% statewide and in 2014, Woodson High School was listed by Newsweek Magazine as #128 among the top 100-150 high schools nationwide.  The study focused on how many advanced placement courses and exams are completed at each school in relation to how many students are enrolled. Woodson has just undergone an expansion and renovation that was very successful, giving the school, in addition to its great academic reputation, updated facilities, science labs, a new auditorium, and a renovated gymnasium. Even New York Times Op-Ed Collumnist, Thomas L. Friedman, published a glowing 2013 piece on W.T. Woodson High School.
