Daily Niblet …
When my Mother or Grandmother would make biscuits the first thing that came out of the kitchen cabinet was a sifter. You remember, with the crank handle on the side and the distinct noise it made when you turn that handle. Put in a little flour turn the crank and presto fine, smooth flour, and left in the top clumps, hulls, and possibly an insect or two, this all went in the trash. They told me this had to be done not only to remove the hulls, clumps, and insects, it also added air that made for fluffier, better tasting baked goods.
What if every morning we put our thoughts in the sifter and turned that crank, leaving the bitterness , anger and resentment for the trash. Maybe it would it be easier to "rise" and deliver a better "tasting day". After all
"who likes flat biscuits?" Happy Baking!!!!
