Why Do People Live here?
People live here to feel and belong to a special community. Creativity and immense care was put into the development of Long Meadow Farms. The idea was to keep the native landscape, including the pecan trees, the native wild flowers, and the native wildlife, and then blend this serene landscape with a plethora of beautiful homes and fun-filled activities. The community is close-knit with a sense of friendly small town Texas charm.

The History Behind Long Meadow Farms
Jane Long, well-remembered as the "Mother of Texas" received a title to a league of land in Fort Bend County from Stephen F. Austin. Jane Long moved to this land in 1837 and developed a plantation that raised cattle and grew cotton. Descendants of Jane Long then purchased nearby land, expanding the "Long" land and carrying on the family name. This land is now a part of Long Meadow Farms. This community was proudly built with the same pride that those descendants had as they first made their way to this angelic prarie land just 175 years ago.
