Blue River Trail Silverthorne Colorado
The Blue River Trail is Silverthorne's link to the countywide paved trail system that spans from Keystone Colorado to Glenwood Springs. The trail is the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon walk, or as the snow starts to melt and the temperatures rise, take the kids out for an afternoon bike ride. The trail is family-friendly, relatively flat route that follows the river as it winds its way through town. You will enjoy quiet pull off areas and picnic spots along the way.
There are four large bridges that link the trail as it crosses back and forth across the river, providing users with easy access to the outlet shops, the Blue River itself for flyfishing opportunities, the Silverthorne Town Center and the Silverthorne Recreation Center which has an indoor pool, weight room and full size gym, waterslide and yoga instruction. Along the Blue River Trail system you'll find the Silverthorne Pavilion and the Rainbow Park facility. Rainbow Park is centrally located next to the recreation center. This is a 7 acre park featuring a national recognized skateboard park, tennis courts, basketball courts a children's playground plus a playground designed especially for toddlers, a multipurpose field, four sand volleyball courts, three picnic shelters and public restrooms. Another trail very popular in the Silverthorne area is the Angler Mountain Trail. Located at the base of Ptarmigan Mountain, the Angler Mountain trail is approximately 2.5 miles in length and climbs 1200 vertical feet from the valley floor where it meets the homes of Angler Mountain Ranch. The trail moves quickly through open meadows before it enters into a Aspen Grove and areas of lodgepole pine trees. The trail does become steep in areas but offers magnificent views of the Gore Range.
