5,390 Blogs Later, We're #1 and #2 in Indiana.
I remember in 2009, when I passed my State Real Estate exam, my wife Evelyn insisted I join Active Rain. She had already been a member for 1-1/2 years. Up until then, I was focused on my other profession and only heard the name Active Rain mentioned occasionally. I took her advice and joined Active Rain in Mid July, 2009.
For the first couple of years, I blogged about subdivisions in the area, in St Joseph County, Indiana, since Evelyn was focused on Elkhart County. Then I started commenting on other members blogs and "suggesting" them if I thought they should be a "Featured" blog. Since then the "Suggested" has been changed to "Like", but it started to become addictive, as I started to blog more, comment more and even stated to participate in the Contests.
Evelyn, in the meantime had become #1 in the State of Indiana on the Active Rain Leaderboard. The more I blogged the higher I went in the rankings, until this month, when I reached #2. I don't expect to be #1 in Indiana, since that position belongs to Evelyn.
It was fun, as I have met a lot of Active Rain members, either through the blogs, telephone calls and even in person. Between the two of us, we have posted 5,390 Blogs. It sure doesn't seem like I have written 1,652 of those, but as a "Rainmaker", the exposure has been tremendous and I have received a wealth of information along the way. I'm glad Evelyn introduced me to Active Rain!
