I made a promise that I would participate in Debbie Reynolds’ Contest, “Ringing and Singing in the Rain” this year, and made my first call to Ms. Andrea Bedard Friday morning, January 22nd, just before the big blizzard was to hit that area of Silver Springs, Maryland. I needed to call Andrea anyway to practice how to say “Weltanschauung” anyway, after she had commented on my recent post that she would make a recording for all of us to hear the correct pronunciation.
To my surprise, Andrea was home when I made the call, and she said that she was staying home and prepared for the coming storm. She had stored up plenty of water and food to last throughout the winter storm. Like some of us in the Rain, she hasn’t blogged as often as she would liked due to her business and busy schedules.
Andrea has been a licensed REALTOR® since 2004, and she is presently with a locally owned brokerage at Thompson Company, REALTORS®, which fits her ideals perfectly. Business has been very busy in her area, and they are coming off a very hot summer. She spoke of a very nice listing that she had that received some 24 offers in only 4 days on the market. Like most areas, the location of the community dictated how competitive the buyers were over certain listings.
Andrea was excited about the opportunity to list a property in the $750.000 price range, as she wanted to move up into the more expensive and luxury homes in her market area. She has a soft spot for vintage homes, and she specializes in finding and marketing them. Therefore, her plans for her business in 2016 was to seek out and find more expensive homes to sell and to market for her clients.
Her goals for Active Rain in 2016 are to start blogging more, since she understands how important it was for growing her business. Buyers and sellers have found her online from her past blogging efforts, and she recognizes how important it is to get back into the swing of blogging as an additional tool for generating leads.
She talked about finding a balance between her family, personal goals, and business goals. She loves distance running, and recently ran a 10K event. Running has been very relaxing and satisfying for her. Her two daughters are the most important things in her life, and she wants to give them both quality time, since one is now in middle school, and the younger one in elementary. I know Andrea will be able to meet all those goals, while spending quality time with her family.
