Here are the latest real estate statistics for Carroll County, Maryland....

 

We have been, and continue to be in a "seller's market". This means there are more people who want to buy homes than there are homes for sale. The inventory of homes for sale in Carroll County, Md. has been very low. Now is a good time to consider listing your Carroll County, Md home for sale. 

 

During January 2016, there were a total of 203 new listings. This is an increase of 23.8% from the previous month (there were 164 new listings), and a decrease of 20.1% (there were 254 listings) from a year ago. There are a total of 751 active listings, which is less than the previous month (816) and less than a year ago (816). However, the total number of active listings is on target with the 5-year average of 753.

 

During January 2016, there were 138 closed sales. This reflects a decrease in closed sales of 18.3% from the previous month (there were 169 closed sales), and an increase of 24.3% (there were 111 closed sales) from a year ago.

 

During January 2016, it took an average of 94 days for a house to go under contract in Carroll County, Md. This is well below the 5-year average of 120 days. A year ago, it took an average of 124 days for a property to go under contract. This demonstrates that homes are currently selling faster than they did a year ago.
