Dorothy has finally found her dream community

By Katy Realtor Timothy Sojka 713-822-2152

The Wizard of Oz was written by Frank Baum well over 100 years ago.  However, the quest of the heroine still rings true to today's culture.  Many people do not know that the Wizard of Oz was actually not just a children's story but actually a political allegory.

The tornado in the book represents the economic turmoil that forced many families to leave their small towns and move to the big cities to take jobs in manufacturing facilities.  Although, the big city had more glamour and pomp and circumstance much like the fictional city of Oz, the families reminisced for the peace and tranquility of their small towns.

The city of Oz is one of the most famous cities of fiction, but a more incredible community would be a blend of city conveniences and the tranquility of a small town.

Just such a community may exist within the bounds of Katy.  A bubbling stream, that is the beginning of Buffalo Bayou and towering oaks offering abundant shade greet you as you enter the enchanting neighborhood of WoodCreek Reserve.  This 500 acre community lies within Katy proper and prides itself on enjoying a close relationship with the community that many Katy residents refer to as old town Katy.

To continue the feel and magic of a country community, their will only be about 500 homes in the community, about one home per acre of the development.  More than one-third of the community is dedicated to a nature reserve where families can enjoy a multitude of activity.

The close relationship this community shares with the natural surroundings can be felt in almost every facet of the planning.  The developers strived to give the community a strong sense of community as well.  WoodCreek Reserve Development purchased land close to the community so an elementary and middle school could be built.  The WoodCreek team felt it was important that the kids that lived in the neighborhood could walk or bike to each school within five minutes.

Their commitment to the community paid off as the developer was selected by the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce as the 2007 Business of the Year.  The ties to Old Town Katy and the relationship with nature are complemented by almost every modern convenience.  Each home is built by one of the top area builders and the amenity packages in each home will woo home buyers.  The community's vision has been proven by the brisk sale of homes.

Home start in the $300,000's with plans to open up new sections soon.  A new Estate section is just starting to take shape as well.  This gated section features some of West Houston's premier builders.  In the Estate section homes will range from $500,000 to almost $1,000,000.

As the developers see the fruition of their vision on the horizon they have taken time to appreciate their efforts.  Robert Anthony of the development team said the WoodCreek Reserve Development Founder and CEO Troy Maxwell said to him at the beginning of the project "I don't care if it takes us ten years to develop the neighborhood.  I want a community I can live in and be proud!"

According to new resident Robin Schwartz he has already reached his goal.  Robin stated "I love that each house is different and interesting.  My family uses the tennis courts and jogging trails.  We simply love living here."

Mr. Maxwell, Larry Boudloche, and Robert Anthony and their team at WoodCreek Development must feel a little like Frank Baum's wizard.  Everyone looked to them to help a magical community flourish and their team has more than delivered.  Somewhere, the soft whisper of "There is no place like home" is being uttered.  Who knows, ruby slippers might even be tapping.

WoodCreek Reserve is a stones through from 1-10 and a short distance from the Westpark Tollway.  The community is perfect for Houston Area commuters.

Katy Real Estate News - Woodcreek Reserve is perfect for Houston Relocation

By Katy Realtor, Broker and Author Tim Sojka 713-822-2152

Just moments for 1-10 and a short drive from the Westpark Tollway, Woodcreek Reserve is perfect for people relocating to Houston or Katy.

Woodcreek Reserve is a beautiful community with a bubbling stream, walking trails and grand oak trees.  Yes the community has tennis courts, pools, play areas and walking trails.  Yes the community has stunning custom built estate homes from a half a million to over a million dollars and gorgeous homes from $300,000 to $500,000 by distinguished area builders.

To add to the community feel all schools are in walking or biking distance of the Woodcreek Reserve.  However, one of the most undersold facts is that the community is actually part of the city of Katy (often times referred to as old town Katy).

The community actually gets the advantages of the Katy amenities (police, ambulance etc).  Most communities that have a Katy address are not actually part of the Katy proper.  Woodcreek takes great pride in this and the hope to offer the home town feel and all the modern conveniences.

So if you are relocating to Houston or relocating to Katy please think of this beautiful community.
