The Truckee River runs through Reno, NV. It is one of the main attraction of locals and visitors.
City leaders worked hard in the past five years to make this area not just walkable, but also visually appealing. From railings, to sitting areas; from art pieces to bright visible signs; from condo developments to plenty of stores and restaurants. All has one in common - the river view and the excitement it has to offer.
The past few years, we have experienced severe drought, resulting to nearly dry riverbed, but this year's "El Nino" brought above average precipitation resulted in amazing river flow. We still could use more water to replenish our reservoirs, and even the Truckee River could carry more water, but we are very excited to see all the snow and rain.
As spring has sprung, people are out and about biking, walking, enjoying the scenery.
The bridge below is the brand new under construction Virginia Street bridge, the oldest main road connecting Reno, NV and Carson City. The bridge is planned to be open for traffic in April of this year.
