I dropped out of college after my freshman year. I had so looked forward to going and was extremely excited when accepted to the college of my choice and the house of my choice. As I went through the school year, I realized I was having a great time (socially) but I wasn't getting my money's worth, academically. I wasn't really interested in learning what they wanted to teach me. I seemed to have my own agenda, so I quit and moved to Wenatchee, Washington and got a job.
But that isn't the end of the story. I love learning. I always exceeded CE requirements when I was an agent. I enjoy learning about all kinds of things and have a huge library of books, tapes and videos. I've probably spent more money on books, tapes, videos and seminars than I would have to get a 4 year degree... probably even more than medical school would have cost. I like to say I have two Phd degrees... one from the University of Adversity and one from the School of Hard Knocks.
I have purchased scores of programs from Nightingale Conant, the world leader in personal development. I've bought dozens of courses from The Great Courses company. I currently have 63 courses in que on Udemy. I have a subscription to Audible.com so I can listen to books in my car.
My library consists of scads of personal development programs plus everything from cooking to mathematics, public speaking, photography, drawing, painting, writing, Scrivner, Photoshop, crowdfunding, memory training and on and on.
I admit it... I am an educational junkie!
How about you? Do you enjoy learning new things and expanding your knowledge personally and professionally?
Have a Happy Day!
Carol
