I saw one of the best movies I have been to in a long time last night. Me Before You, by Jojo Moyes.
Me Before You, is the beautiful story of quirky Louisa Clark, (played by Emilia Clarke) a young woman who is hired to be a companion and caretaker for handsome Will Traynor (played by Sam Claflin) a quadriplegic man. Will was paralyzed after being hit by a motorcycle. Will was distant and withdrawn when Louisa comes into his life. Louisa is a breath of fresh air who draws Will out of his shell by engaging him in activities outside of the family home. As in most chic flicks, Louisa and Will fall in love with each other. The twist in this movie is that Will had decided to end his life because he could not accept his limitations, and, his love for Louisa does nothing to change that decision.
My take away from this movie was that these two people would never have even met each other if it had not been for Will's accident. Yet, they come to truly appreciate and love one another for their true selves. Enjoy the clip below
