Ask An Ambassador How to Create a Winning Formula for a Blog
Noah Seidenberg "Be spontaneous. Do not try too hard. The winning blogs I have written flowed in a few minutes and were not really planned or deeply thought out. I came up with an idea and typed it out, I never have had a good or featured blog that I have spend hours putting together."
Right on target - and - re-blog!
This post was inspired in part by the blog post Bob Stewart wrote that goes into ideas that may help Active Rain bloggers get featured. Check it out it is called "A Second Chance to Have Your Blog Featured" I have seen some questions and complaints about not getting featured and maybe even thoughts that some people get it easier than others.
I want to relate my experiences about just writing a good blog and how it works for me. After almost 5 years as a member of this great community I want to tell you what I have figured out.
Be spontaneous. Do not try too hard. The winning blogs I have written flowed in a few minutes and were not really planned or deeply thought out. I came up with an idea and typed it out, I never have had a good or featured blog that I have spend hours putting together. I bet your thoughts that come off the top of your mind are much more interesting as compared to ones that are, well forced.
I like to write about my specific experiences and talk about what I did or saw and how I felt. I think that is way more interesting and maybe people can relate to the good, the bad and ugly world of sales and Real Estate.
Also to make your post ironic and hit home with the readers really helps. It does not matter if you are trying to speak to potential clients or other members of the blogging community. One thing I have learned is do not get too wordy (is there such a word?) keep it short and sweet and you will see results. No run on sentences.
For my scene I am just as happy if I reach a large audience as compared to being featured. If you track short URL's and many people are reading your blog, I call that a winner. Also go back and check on older blog posts, they live on and if well written will grow in hits for some time.
Enjoy yourself and do not give up. Rome was not built in a day
