Actually the Fireside is in the Ravenswood neighborhood right next to Rosehill cemetery which makes is a little spooky but the food is great. This is sort of like the TV show Cheers, we have been coming for years and they really treat us right. It is located at 5739 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago 60660.
Last weekend we went to the Fireside for dinner and asked what soup that had. We were offered two different home made soups but decided we did not want to get soup because our dinner was going to be enough, we had ordered a homemade thin crust pizza and a Cesar salad. The next thing that that happened was that the owner came over and said how nice it was to see us and that it had been while since we stopped in. A couple minutes later two bowls of the homemade soup appeared on our table compliments of the chef. The soups were just fantastic.
It is hard to choose what to order they have a huge menu that offers everything from Ribs, burgers, steak, fantastic appetizers and just about anything you could ever want. The tap beer list is amazing and I had a hard time deciding what I wanted, there are so many great choices. Check out the fireside gallery for some really cool photos, this place is huge and has a dining room, outdoor seating and a great dining option in the back that is really unusual, it is a room with the room removed. You dine to the stars.
Check out these two sites if you want to learn more about the history of the Fireside or click on this link the Fireside restaurant to see what is currently going on and check out the huge menu. If you ever get the chance I strongly suggest you try out this place, it is one of my favorites.
