What's the Neighborhood Like?
The homes you will find for sale in the Woodland Hills Neighborhood generally range between 1200 and 2500 square feet. There are a few of the original cabins built in the 1920's but the area really boomed after WWII in the 1940's and 1950's. The original developer Girard knew he would need greenery to attract homeowners to the area that had been previously been agricultural so he had planted almost 120,000 sycamores, eucalyptus, fir pine, and pepper trees. This is what makes the area so green and lush in spite of the warm summers.
The smallest, original homes in the neighborhood start with 2 bedrooms and just over 1000 square feet while the 1940's and 50's models have larger floor plans with three and four bedrooms. Many of the lots range between 1/5 acre and a 1/2 acre so there is plenty of room for people to get out and enjoy the beautiful Southern California weather.

Woodland Hills is located in the southwest end of San Fernando Valley. The greatest feature of this neighborhood is the access to the great outdoors and open space, from Mulholland and Topanga Canyon to the Ahmanson Ranch, where there are trails and parks in every direction. When you finish outdoor activities there is just about every imaginable type of shopping and dining, from the Topanga Mall and new Topanga Village to the shops and restaurants on Ventura Blvd. Whether you're looking to feast on Vegan, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Japanese, Fresh Fish, English Fish & Chips to a delicious piece of Barbeque you will find a scrumptious variation in Woodland Hills. On Summer evenings there is likely to be a selection of festivals and outdoor concerts to make your evening's entertainment.
