Everyone's gotten that last minute call from a REALTOR "We have someone who wants to show your house within the hour!" Most of us don't live in a constant state of readiness - especially the bachelor! When there are two people involved - there's just a better chance that one of you will have time to run home and straighten up.
For the single crowd - try to go with the flow and let it show! Here are ten quick and easy things you can do in ten minutes and be out the door:
- Turn on all the lights. You want buyers to walk into a well lit house and a well lit room so they can immediately notice all the good features. Of course, if there aren't any good features - leave the lights off ;)
- Make your bed. Yes - it matters. Make your bed! Did I say Make your bed?
- Take all the clothes on your floor and stick them in a drawer. No one is going to open the drawers of your dresser - everyone is going to look in the closet! (Here's an idea - put them in the washing machine. You don't actually have to wash them later, but it's a thought!)
- Put your dirty dishes in the oven. It's better than having them sitting in the sink - and you've got a 50/50 chance that no one will look there!
- Plug in an air freshener. Use those little ones that plug right into the outlet. If you had the boys over for pizza and beer last night - you better open the windows!
- Throw out that leftover over pizza from last night, that sour milk and any thing else in the fridge that's rotten, then....
- Take out the garbage.
- Wipe off the counters. Even if there are no crumbs - someone is bound to put their hand right on top of that little spot of jelly from last week that you can harldly see.
- Put away the toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant & everything else you left on the bathroom counter.
- Put the toilet seat down. I'd suggest cleaning it too - but that might be asking too much.
