Distress Property Stats November 2016
Distressed properties still lurk in the shadows of most markets. Appreciation over the year has been modest in most markets. The lack of inventory is reflected in the declining numbers of distressed sales.
In December of 2016, ATTOM Data Solutions parent of Realtytrac.com reported there were 870,203 distress properties in November of 2016 declined 18.0% from October of 2016, and fell 17.0% from November of 2015. One in every 1,526 U.S. properties with a foreclosure filing, and State of New Jersy was the highest with one in every 597 housing units in foreclosure filing in October of 2016. While, pre-foreclosures were 26.6%, auctions were 36.7%, and REOs were 36.7%; in November of 2016.
Pre-foreclosures fell 16.0% in November of 2016 from October of 2016, and down 16.0% from November of 2015. Auctions declined 27.5% in November of 2016 from October of 2016, and lower 12.8% from November of 2015. REOs decreased 7.2% in November of 2016 from October of 2016, and dropped 21.1% from November of 2015.
