There are several ways you can tackle the problem with household items ... 

Bleach is extremely effective in killing mold spores in non-porous materials

Borax is a natural mold inhibitor

Vinegar is a mild acid which can kill some mold spores

Amonia like bleach will only kill mold spores on non-porous materials

Hydrogen peroxide kills mold and is an anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial as well

Baking soda is a great mold inhibitor as well as a deoderizer
