Bigger isn’t Always Better: Why a Boutique Brokerage Might be Right for You

We try harder at steele group Realty

As a consumer, you have many choices when it comes to selecting a real estate broker. And for many, it’s all about the brand, the perception being that the bigger and better known the brand, the higher quality the service.

But you might want to rethink that idea. Here are 5 reasons why a smaller boutique brokerage might be the right choice for you:

1.  We try harder. If you remember the slogan of Avis rent a car, “We try harder”, that may be true for many smaller firms. Without the well-known brand name to rely upon, and fewer buyers and sellers, boutique brokerages know that the opinion of every single client is important and often offer a higher level of personalized service.

2.  Your agent is your champion. While many of the big-box brokerages have sophisticated team structures that allow them to handle transactions in an assembly line fashion, with clients being passed from one person to another at each stage of the game, most agents in boutique offices work one-on-one with their client from the beginning through close of escrow. There is never any confusion about who to call or who is representing your interests.

3.  Personalized marketing. TV ads can be impressive, but when it comes to selling your home a one-size fits all approach may not be the most effective. With the advances in technology, today’s small brokerages have access to an impressive array of marketing tools and they are often more willing to take the time to create a marketing plan customized to best present your home and neighborhood.

4.  Top tier agents. If you think about it, it makes sense. If an agent can flourish in a boutique brokerage without the leverage of a big-name brand, they must be pretty darn good! Most agents in small brokerages rely on referrals vs. internet leads for the bulk of their business so only the best survive.

5.  Community focus. Small brokerages rarely try to be all things to all people. Most will focus on a specific area and truly become neighborhood specialists. They often live in the area where they work and are more concerned about promoting and improving their community than building a city or county-wide business.

So if you’re ready to look beyond the big names and fancy offices, and ready to be wowed, please give me a call! Let me prove to you that whether buying or selling, you’ll be thrilled with our service.

Thanks Bob.  I'm proud to be a small brokerage, but I don't think that everyone really understands the advantages.  Best wishes for continued success :)
