Ohana - Also known as an Accessory Dwelling Unit. A separate dwelling, it can be attached or detached. Known in other areas as a mother in law apartment. Ohana is Hawaiian for family - often used to include extended members.
Makai and Mauka - If a road is parallel to the coast, the Makai side is towards the ocean and the Mauka side is towards the mountains.
AOAO - Known in most other areas as an HOA. It stands for Association Of Apartment Owners.
CPR - Stands for Condominium Property Regime. The short answer is that its a way to subdvide a poperty by creating a condo project.
