Liz and Bill Spear have challenged Rainers to write a blog detailing what we love about our job. To be honest, I love a lot of things! I love looking at houses and property, even the crappy ones. I love helping first-time buyers learn about real estate and become first-time buyers. I love working with investors to build long-term wealth. I love helping distressed Landlords get back on track and start making money. I love helping Sellers get top dollar quickly. I love being my own boss. I love that every day is unique.
I could probably find dozens of topics to write about, but when I first read the question, there was one thing that stood out immediately: my co-workers!
ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MY TEAM
Angie Gesner is my wife, my partner, and my best friend. She has an accounting background and started handling our financials when I first entered real estate. Three years ago she became licensed and now handles sales. Our office is primarily focused on property management but we work with real estate investors, Tenants becoming first-time home buyers, and sellers. I'm too busy to handle the volume of sales, so Angie has proven an invaluable asset to the team. Besides, the extra income is nice!
Amy Trenk joined our office four years ago during a crisis and saved my bacon! I had just purchased a second company a few months prior and was swamped. I had to fire a long-term employee that came with the business and an assistant quit the following day for unrelated reasons. My only remaining employee was due to give birth to twins in two weeks! To make a long story short, Amy had just lost her job and we found each other through mutual friends. She started as my office manager but eventually became licensed and started helping with Property Management. She is now my right-hand gal and continues to learn and grow. She's also starting to dabble in sales!
Robyn Harper is the newest addition to the office. She applied nearly two years ago and was my #1 pick until I received a late application I couldn't refuse. However, that employee had to leave for health reasons and six months later I called Robyn and asked if she was still available. She's been our office manager for over a year and we couldn't be happier! She is very detail oriented, professional, hard-working, and pleasant to be around. Best of all, she knows all the same movie quotes as me!
They are hard workers, as honest as the day is long, fellow Christians struggling through life, and my friends. There are many things to love about my job but none of them compare to the friends I work with every day!
