Good Curb Appeal is Everything!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with THE TEMPLE TEAM

It is thought among the real estate industry that nearly all home buyers make their buying decision before they even get out of the car. They either immediately fall in love or fall out of love. If they love it enough from first site they will walk through the home to validate their initial feelings.  Therefore curb appeal is very crucial.  Remember the old saying "You never get a second chance to make a first impression".

So ... what can you do to prepare your home?

Look around the outside everywhere. Are the shrubs neatly trimmed? Is there fresh mulch? Is everything nicely painted? Are there any missing of faded shutters or window boxes? How's the mailbox? What about the front door?

A very popular thing these days is "Outdoor Living".  Whether it's an impromtu get-together, a planned party, a kids party or cocktail party, people love to be outside on the porch and pation. Landscape lighting can add a nice extra touch so that people who drive by after dark will still enjoy it's supurb curb appeal. Outdoor spaces that are designed for entertaining add to the value of a home.

Curb appeal is definitely important to many buyers! I've had a few buyers who when we pulled up in the driveway of a home we were scheduled to see, let me know that they didn't want to go in once they saw the outside.

Great point and True dat! And in San Diego, outdoor living is as important as great rooms and quartz counter-tops these days. Buyers to start forming an opinion as soon as we pull up.

Very good advice.  Many people don't take the time to spruce up their entry area and it is very important to making a good first impression.

Good recommendations.

The outside is an important area of the house as well.
