Special offer

Attention Ethics and the REALTOR group members

By
Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty

I am thrilled to announce that Jesse Clifton has graciously agreed to Co-Moderate our group.

Jesse has been a long time active member of the group and understands the importance of keeping the group on topic.

The Ethics and the REALTOR group rules are simple. "Anything to do with the REALTOR Code of Ethics...Questions on Behavior...The Enforcement Process...Lets talk the Code..."

****Please do not add your listing posts, market reports, political and religious post, self promotion type posts as they will be removed from the group.****

As always we ask that if you feel we have removed a post that should have stayed...that you please notify one of us.

Thank you all so much and THANK YOU Jesse!!!

P.S.

I am sorry this post looks so plain but I am unable to upload any photos to ActiveRain as there are some glitches in the system.

Sorry guys. I've been away these last few days.  Welcome to the group Lori...just jump right in a post away!

Mary Strang...I've been lax on moderating the group. I git gun shy after all the negative e-mails when I deleted posts.

Thanks Alexander!

Monika,

Will do!   I have also invited another REALTOR at my office who was the head of the committee for years.  Her name is Pat Pate.  She is a great REALTOR and friend who is very interested and knowledgeable.   I am sure she will enjoy this forum greatly.  I don't know how you usually approach the forum as I am kind of new...so let me ask you a question if I may, what is the number one single largest complaint lodged against agents?

I like this group because it's always clean content, always on topic and my favorite to comment on.  Thanks for moderating and keeping it on topic.  I love the "what would you do in this situation" posts ... they are the easiest to engage with actual valuable contect.  Thanks.

Monika, the Ethics Group is normally one of my favorite groups to look at on ActiveRain.  However, I have noticed that more and more there are original posts in the Ethics Group that have nothing to do with ethics.  In fact, on the first page today almost half of the original posts had nothing to do with ethics.  I know you have guidelines on this but I'm not sure how you monitor it.  I find myself coming to the Ethics Group less frequently because I have to wade through to many topics that are completely irrelevant to ethics.  I would hope that a way could be found that would strongly discourage people from posting inappropriately.  Thanks for listening.

I agree. It is frustrating to try and clean out the group by deleting those posts that I think are not ethics related only to be slammed by the poster.

I will weed some out and hope no one get totally ticked off.

Thanks for understandng.

I peek in here on a daily basis. Some of the things i've witnessed over the years are astounding. The Code is really not that difficult to follow.

Embarrasingly, I am very new to this, although I joined a few months ago. The term "Ethics" speaks to my inner self. Learning about this today has renewed my energy for working in this industry.

Now if I can just figure out which keys will get me joined to this group...

Thank you,

Most definitely, too many Realtors these day's are only concerned about the "SALE" and aren't concerning themselve with their clients needs or who's toes they step on to get the listing. If you violate your MLS ethics you should be punished by your state's Real Estate Board, and the penalties should be very stringent. If we don't have our ethics, what do we have?

I can see that this original post was a long while back, but it sure seems that some of the things posted are a misfit for the group name.
