My good friend Stephanie came out this past week. We took an overnight trip to Tampa for a couple of days. On the first day we went to visit Winter the dolphin (of "A Dolphin Tale" fame) at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
Winter and Hope (Winter's best buddy) were both rescued from Brevard county. Winter was tangled up in the line of a crab pot that required her to have her tail amputated. Hope was found at 2 months trying to nurse from her dead mother (poor little baby).
On day 2 we went down to Gulfport and took a boat tour out to Egmont Key. The basic goal of the day was to see dolphins. We got to do just that. The clip below is from the boat tour company that took us out. It's pretty accurate as to what we saw.
All in all it was a good time, and while Tampa, Clearwater, St Petersburg are nice, it's just too big for me. I preferred my quiet little island by the ocean...
