If you have never seen the festivities of the downtown Clovis Farmers Market in Clovis CA 93612 you should make an effort to go before the season ends. My family went this past Friday night. It is open from 5:30-9:30 on Friday nights and from 8:30-11:00 on Saturday mornings during the months of May through September. It is a great place to go to stock up on local produce, nuts, eggs, meat and juice. There are a variety of the aforementioned farmers selling their latest and seasonally fresh crop.
Apart from fresh items to stock your fridge with throughout the week, one may also venture out to the Old Town Clovis Farmers Market on a Friday night simply to get a bite to eat. I had the tri-tip sandwich from a vendor with with an easy up that was essentially all screened in other than the two square ordering windows. That is my normal go to food choice when I am there. The tri-tip this time wasn't sliced it was sort of in little pieces. When I told my friend about my sandwich he commented that they prepared the tri-tip in the crock pot. So I had a slow cooked tri-tip sandwich that tasted rather good doused in BBQ sauce. There are plenty other options for dinner though too such as two different Mexican food options, rice bowls, and corn dogs. Brick and mortar restaurants are in the area too such as Bobby Salazars and Salsa's restaurant and Luna's.
Other than the produce type foods to consume on the spot or to take home as well as the dinner type foods, there are an assortment of snack options such as kettle corn, ice cream and churros, etc. But besides the consumable items at the farmers market there typically is some entertainment as well with musicians who typically cover songs that were or are popular and well known. A good sized crowd sits and enjoys the music and people watching as the intersection of streets typically fills up with people who are dancing by themselves or in a scripted group.
