In terms of getting a great bank for your buck, the Space Coast is the No. 5 best place to live in Florida. According to SmartAssset, a financial technology company, the Space Coast came in at No. 5 when you compare median incomes and cost-of-living data in counties nationwide where people have the most purchasing power.
SmartAsset put Brevard County's annual cost of living at $31,229 and the area's median income at $48,925 a year. That gives Brevard a "purchasing power" index rating of 70.94. Cost of living would include housing costs, taxes, health care and other expenses. Because of this, Brevard County has a favorable income to cost-of-living ratio, relative to the rest of Florida.
Of course, this is information that I have been telling my clients about for quite a while! The Space Coast is seeing some of the best appreciation values in terms of real estate out there.
