These are a couple of old red barns I found off a dirt road on the west side of MacDonald Pass just outside of Helena, Montana.

I grew up on a farm in VA so there are lots of old tobacco barn...I know smoking is a big no, no but the smell of fresh cured tobacco brings back my childhood.

Well being from TN we see tons of old barns. Have you ever looked into why barns are red? It is an interesting bit of information. Thanks for sharing your photo.

No I have never looked into that, I will Google that now :)
My county , Lancaster Co., PA still has over 4,000+ working farms , so we have our barns !

I love old barns, they have a definite charm about them.
Red Barns are beautiful. We have plenty of them in Ohio, and every one them is different and unique!!!

Kevin Ray you've inspired me! I travel through Central Washington often and there are some of the most beautiful barns and outbuildings. It seems I'm too often in a hurry to reach my destination that I never pull over to snap shots of these beautiful spots. Maybe tomorrow I'll make time. Thank you!

Colleen, I take my camera with me everywhere I go. With the nomadic nature of a day in the life of a rural real estate agent I find many opportunities to stop and shoot photos between meetings.
