Bringing down Statues is going to cause a Revolution by Robert Swetz
This is another reason I will be living in a small town in the near future away from all these radicals.
Scary times I might add ...

I live in a small town - CHARLOTTESVILLE - and people are using the statue(s) as a reason to act crazy....VA has state law that protects them which is why when this foolishness started late last year, several people with some pro bono attorneys filed a lawsuit.

Getting side tracked on taking down statues is doing NOTHING to improve struggling Americans lives . It won't produce jobs, better housing , better education or solve our health care crisis ($$$). There are anarchists who are determined to destroy America and keep the sheep out in the streets majoring on the minors !

It is indeed scary times, rather than address actual issues, people are wanting statues taken down, insane.

If we keep up with this placating of removing statues, Virginia will be transformed from top to bottom. So many streets, schools, etc named for Civil War era people. They are part of our local history. It's insanity that after all these years, this is now an issue.

History is being rewritten but it cannot be removed from our minds. It is a shame that lawmakers are bending under the pressure.

I don't have much tolerance for racists, the KKK, or Neo Nazis. However, that being said, I think the statues the remind us of the confederacy, are not necessarily a bad thing. What people don't realize is that only 14% of those who fought for the south in the Civil War actually owned slaves. There is more to the story than just slavery. Also, those who do not remember their history (especially if they destroy it), will be condemned to repeat it.
