With that being said, staging is part of the process of getting a home ready for sale. As a seller, think about the last time you saw a home on a Real Estate website. Did a home that was furnished nicely make you more receptive to view that home as opposed to one that was dated with no appeal at all.
Look at your home as if you were the buyer and how would you rate it.
Many sellers think that buyers will find value in their home no matter what the competition looks like, and decide not to change anything. This is not the smart way to look at it. If buyers have a choice, you want to make sure your property stands out from the crowd.
Take a look at your color scheme and wall appeal. If you have wallpaper with roosters staring at you, wall to wall bold flower arrangements, or "old" harvest gold or avocado green appliances, you may need some freshening up. Most buyers are now attracted to freshly painted neutral colors.
If your house is cluttered with wall to wall big furnishings, eliminating some of it to make the space seem larger and more open. We showed 2 houses the other day in the same neighborhood. Though one was slightly smaller, it was staged and the buyers stayed longer in the staged one than the cluttered one.
Let your house be the "home" buyers can see themselves living in!
This is why builders furnish new model homes...better presentation for buyers to see how their furnishings will fit. Staging provides the buyer with a neutral backdrop to their imagination.
A Staged home assures you that it will be presented at its very best to potential buyers, and can dramatically increase your chance for a sale. As far as we are concerned...YES, Staging your home can help you sell your Long Island NY home faster and usually at a higher price!
