Just another day in the way I choose to live my life...
This is a very personal approach on life. I don't just practice Paying it forward during the holidays; I practice it all year round. I would never do this for personal accolades but instead to show others as an example of what it is to be human and to add a positive spin for someone's busy day.
I do not boast, for what I do, as I said before it's a personal thing between for me and the person that I have bestowed this act of kindness. My deepest hope is that this person will do something nice for someone else later in the day and so on and so on. My Hope is that paying it forward will become infectious and one act of kindness ripples into hundreds more acts of kindness.
You would be surprised how many times you can make someone's day, by just helping them by opening a door or helping them across the street with their packages or groceries. Even taking their grocery cart back is not uncommon for me to do. I was brought up this way.
I have no problem paying for someone's coffee while in line at Starbucks as long as I am in the car ahead of them. I like to get away and I can usually go around the block before they get out of line. It is very awkward to pay something forward when the people can catch up with you.
So it is for me; not a holiday tradition with a year-long pass to revert into something else. I don't do Paying it forward for a thank you or for any other reason other than to make myself feel good and hopefully touch someone else's life with a positive rather than a negative.
Just think What a Wonderful World this would be if everyone, just did one nice thing for someone else each day. That is a ripple effect I would love to see…
Thank you Belinda Spillman for the 2017 Pay It Forward November Challenge. You and your three wize guy judges made my November in the Rain a very positive place…
