If we were to ask a builder how many different pieces it takes to build a home, he would not give us an answer back of only one piece. His answer would consist of dozens of pieces.
The same thing should be said when speaking of what it takes to become successful. Success is applying a combination of appropriate action. I say a combination of appropriate action because there are dozens of best practices that over our careers we must learn from to fully equip ourselves. Secondly, not only must we learn and master our skill or trade, but we must also take what we've learned and put pavement to the road.
With so much to focus on it can be easy to lose track of what we as real estate agents are trying to accomplish. Keeping in touch with our buyers, updating our sellers, continually prospecting for new business (both buyers and sellers). It can become overwhelming, especially for those who have been in business many years and have hundreds upon thousands of people to stay in touch with.
Time blocking may be the biggest piece of the puzzle when configuring the combination to success. Time blocking will allow you to schedule your day accordingly by what is most important. To know stone cold that from this time to this time you are doing nothing but said activity. Not only will you accomplish all that you wanted to, but you will accomplish a much higher quality of work simply because you were 100% focusing on the task at hand.
For me personally, time blocking has allowed me to realize just how much I can accomplish in a single day. It's also helped me expand my thinking of what I can achieve in my entire lifetime. Leaving me with a clear vision and schedule to put the pavement to the road. As it will for you as well.
