The Charleston STEM Festival is a celebration of science, technology, engineering and math in the Lowcountry. The 5th annual festival will be highly visible outdoor event that provides opportunity for engagement and exchange between children, teens, families, and local STEM professionals. This exciting event will take place on February 3, 2018 from 10am-3pm at Brittlebank Park in Charleston, SC and will feature over 80 exhibitors, activities, live performances, interactive demonstrations, and family-oriented STEM entertainment. Southeast Wildlife Exposition
When: Feb 16-18, 2018

"The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition was established in 1982; the first Exposition was in February 1983. Since then, SEWE has grown from 100 exhibitors and 5,000 attendees to the largest event of its kind in the nation. Today, an average of 40,000 attendees come to see more than 500 artists, exhibitors and wildlife experts from around the world. Its continued mission: to contribute to the local economy while promoting wildlife and nature conservation and preservation has grown in size and impact each year, making SEWE invaluable to all of South Carolina’s resources."
I have been attending the SEWE for years and brought our children when they were young. They have a great variety of exhibits going so you can choose kid friendly ones if you have little ones with you. Things like Raptor demonstrations, Sheep & Duck herding, Reptiles, Retriever Dog Demonstrations and more.
Spring Bird Walks
When: Thursday, March 1
Cost: Free
Time: 8:30-10:30 am
Where: Sawmill Branch Trail, 900 Crosscreek Drive
Join Audubon South Carolina for Spring Bird Walks on the Sawmill Branch Trail. This seven-mile walking and biking trail stretching throughout Summerville offers several great birding locations. It is also one of the best places in Summerville to see the beautiful Painted Bunting! For this program, we meet at the southern end of the trail at the Oakbrook YMCA off of Old Trolley Road (street address is 900 Crosscreek Dr, Summerville, SC 29485). Meet our naturalist in the gravel parking area next to the soccer fields near the beginning of the trail. Walks are FREE and occur from 8:30-10:30 a.m. No registration is required. A limited number of binoculars will be available for use.
Free Dance Lessons - Summerville Shag Club:
When: Monday, Feb 5th. (Happens Every Monday )
Time: 7pm
Where: 400 Country Club Blvd. Summerville SC
Every Monday night at 7pm the Summerville Shag Club offers free shag lessons at the Summerville Country Club Candelite Pavilion. No partner is required, just come and learn how to do the most popular dance in the state! If you are new to Summerville, this is a great way to get out and meet people and learn a popular dance loved by young and old.
