Sunday Afternoon's Saturday Night Reflection!

This is Memorial Day Weekend!!! A special time of celebration for Americans! We honor those who have gone before us to preserve the liberties and freedom that God ordained for us...especially those who have given their lives for that cause...

I recall the last stanza of the 19th Century classic, "My Country Tis Of Thee"...

Our father's God to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing.
Long may our land be bright
With freedom's holy light;
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God, our King!

If you can sing that without a tear coming to your eye...you're not getting it!

 

As the verse says...He is the Author of liberty...can you see freedom's holy light on our nation? If not...why not...maybe you're looking in the wrong place... 

 

And guess what...God's hand is still on the 'plow' of creation...He didn't start something He could not finish, nor has He abandoned us or forgotten us...Let freedom ring!!!

He is still the King of Kings and our great God protecting us by His might...yet He holds us in the palm of His Hand!!! God Bless our Country and our families on this Memorial Day Weekend!!!

Fran, Rolling Thunder is in DC for the weekend - all of these old guys (mostly Viet Nam era verterans) converge on DC and go zooming around town for the weekend.  It's pretty cool!

I would love to thank God and our fallen soldiers for giving me the freedoms that I enjoy everyday in life. I do understand that without them, I couldn't vote for who I want in office. I couldn't leave the house at midnight if I wanted to and I could be killed for having a different opinion than my neighbor. SO THANK YOU GOD FOR CREATING THIS GREAT COUNTRY and THANK YOU TO OUR FALLEN SOLDIERS for protecting those freedoms!
