My claim to fame is where I was born, raised and have lived my entire 52 years in the beautiful city I call home, Colorado Springs in beautiful Colorado. It had a small town feeling until the late 90's when the population boomed and with it came the growing pains of becoming a bigger city. Newcomers laughed when we complained about the rush hour traffic telling us natives that we had nothing to complain about because you could still get across the city in less than an hour. Since then we have now tripled in size with people moving here from all over the country to enjoy and relish the beauty that being born here we take for granted. I have seen many changes but the beauty of looking out my window and seeing Pikes Peak will never make me want to live anywhere else. When I go on a road trip and come over the horizon and see that majestic mountain I know I am home.
This is a city of diversity you won't find in many other towns, our economy is not just based on one industry but many, we have a large amount of Tech Companies that have settled here and having 4 Military installations brings many here on deployment for only a couple of years but many of them come back to retire here because they loved it so much. Millenials are moving here by the droves because we have so much outdoor activities that you can enjoy year round.
There are so many reasons that people tell me they moved here or want to in the near future and they all end with how beautiful it is. The Real Estate Market has felt the influx in a good way if you want to sell your home, our Median price has gone up significantly from 2016 at approximately $230,000.00 to current day of just over $300,000.00 with being on the market less than 30 days.
It's a fast paced moving market and some say it is not a good one for 1st time home buyers but if you have a realtor that is on the ball you can still find a great deal as a 1st time buyer but you have to be serious and pre-approved because homes under the current Median price move fast. If you are moving here to retire you need to know the areas that have everything you are looking for with a low maintenance home. If you are being transferred here for your job you need to know the areas that are easy access to get across town or maybe you will be working remote and want to find a home with a great home office.
