Dear Lisa,

In the first days of an emergency, cash donations are usually best. After that, it is good to find out, what is needed.

Watching the news about Michael.  I'm sure the recovery will take a long time.  Hopefully, there was no loss of life.

Choosing a charity to help is important. We cannot choose the Salvation Army or their red kettles in good conscience.

Our state association still has a surplus from the donation we received for a massive tornado years ago. We recently gave $10,000 each to North and South Carolina.

Lisa this was a very scary storm.  I can't imagine what it is like to be hit with winds Matthew produced.

Lisa- we are still waiting to hear how friends are who live in Panama City. I did text Joel Jadofsky and he is without power or cell service but drove 40 miles to connect.

Oh my heart is broken for those who lost everything - in such a short period of time too. What a devastating storm, Lisa!

While we still have our trees and home, we lost power early this afternoon and still don't have it back. We have had trees fall all over the city and the drive to my appointment this evening during rush hour was better than a mid-day drive - no one was on the roads!

It's crazy that this far inland, we are feeling the effects of the second hurricane in a month. We have talked repeatedly about living at the beach - after this, I don't think I can imagine that any longer.

The Salvation Army is one of my go-to charities as well. Those poor people on the coast need every one of us to give, give, give!

Realtors are banding together to help other Realtors. At NAR convention there is a special run to raise money. I think this is great.
