Gingerbread Creation Contest: The Gingerbread Creation Contest has become a favorite for those participating and those wandering around and looking at them! Let your creative side go and make a fun creation for display around Summerville! Help decorate the historic downtown Summerville for Christams through the Gingerbread Creation Contest. Sugary creations will be on display throughout Historic Downtown Summerville in November & December. The Living Christmas Story
When: December 7-9, 6:30-9pm Where: Historic Downtown Summerville, Bethany UMC About: This is down the street from my home in Summerville. Each year we enjoyed visiting this with our children. The people of Bethany United Methodist Church of Summerville, SC, put on an amazing Living Christmas Story that you can drive through. It is like you stepped back in time to the town of Bethlehem. A Christmas Carol Walking Tour with Tim Lowry
When: December 20-21,2018
Where: Historic Downtown Summerville
About: Charles Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol” is one of the staples of the Christmas season and now you can hear the Summerville local storyteller, Tim Lowry retell it! Christmas Tree Lighting
When: Tuesday, November 27, 2018 6:15pm
Where: Hutchinson Square, Downtown Summerville in front of Town Hall
About: The annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Hutchinson Square will be on Tuesday, November 27th beginning at 6:15pm. Join the Mayor of the Town of Summerville as he lights up Town Square in Historic Downtown Summerville. In addition to the lighting, musical entertainment, food vendors, and few kids activities will be available starting at 6:15 pm. This event is hosted by the Flowertown Garden Club.
Christmas Parade of Boats
When: Dec 8 ,2018 5- 8pm
Where: Downtown Charleston
About: If you are already downtown on December 8th, make your way over to the harbor to see the fantastic display of decorated boats floating through the water. Summerville Christmas Parade

About: Come have fun celebrating the Christmas Season with this fun family event. The Summerville Christmas Parade has grown to one of the largest in the state and is a sight to behold! "The mission of the Summerville Christmas Parade is to promote positivity throughout the Town of Summerville while capturing the spirit of the Christmas holiday for all to enjoy. The parade aims to bring the community together as a whole to celebrate the season while representing the local history and traditions. We welcome a diversity of ideas while addressing the parade theme." Schools, businesses and organizations all are encouraged to participate and support the community. Come join the town! Holiday Festival of Lights:
When: November 9,2018-1/1/2019 , starts at 5:30pm.
Where: James Island County Park

If you have children in your life, or even if you don't, try to get out and see this display! The light show is over three miles long (you drive in your car) and then you can park and walk through beautiful light displays, roast marshmallows, sip hot cocoa and ride the train!
