The Webster's Definition of Peace: a state of tranquility or quiet; such as:
a. Freedom from civil disturbance Peace and order were finally resotred in the town.
b. A state of security or order within a community provedied by law or custom a breach of the peace.
c. Harmony in personal relations, the sisters are at peace with each other.
d. Used interjectionally to ask for silence or calm or as a greeting or farewell at peace.
C & D are probably ones that we should all strive to do or say, because that goes right along with Romans 12:18 "If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all."
We all want to live in peace with others. Yet, it's much easier to talk about peace then it is to actually living it. I heard my Pastor say, "More People, More problems" When you add more people to any situation, it can be more challenging. The Word (Bible), according to the Apostle Paul, it commands us to live in peace with our fellow brother's (believers). Actually, throughout the New Testament, Paul says, "So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual up building" Romans 14:19, also you can find similar statements in Ephesians and Colossians. Christ paid for our peace on the cross which puts us at peace with GOD. HIS peace allows us to experience true peace which will enable us to have peace with others. So no matter what situation your in or whatever chaos maybe around you, Seek Peace, pursue it, don't give up until you have it. You will find that everything does work out for your good no matter what happens. Puts in mind a song I heard way back when, "Check yourself before you wreck yourself." It really does start within..
