It is early and it is cold but the pups and I are up and going about our day. Sometimes the beauty just hits me in the face. It did this morning.I snapped a couple of pictures and then saw the red in the cold white. Have a good day and stay warm.

Oh my, you have captured that stark beauty of winter. The red cardinal is such a gift of color...thanks for sharing this with us Sheila. We haven't had a chance to enjoy any white stuff this year. Many are relieved, but I always like a few days of snow.

Hi Sheila: At first i thought you were referring to the skyline, as I see a bit of reddish tones at the horizon, but of course, it was a cardinal. I spotted a cardinal in Hawaii yesterday, too, and tried to capture a photo. But the danged bird didn't hang around on the fig tree long enough for me to get it.
