Montrose Shopping Park: Located on Ocean View Boulevard, the Montrose Shopping Park which offers residents activities such as the Montrose Arts & Crafts Festival, Annual Car Shows, a farmers market, and various shopping and dining options. “Above the highest crest in Los Angeles, nestled in the foothills, and overlooking DTLA, rests the charming town of Montrose. Quaint mom and pop shops line the tree covered streets neatly tinseled with lights by night. There are over 180 shops serving the community with everything from boutiques to fine dining to health, fitness, and bowling. Whether you need retail therapy, ideas for a date, or a soothing day at the spa, there is something for everyone in Montrose.” (Yelp customer)

Trader Joe’s: Located on Honolulu Avenue, this Trader Joe’s Montrose considers themselves as the neighborhood grocery store. The parking can sometimes be a little tricky, yet there is great street parking on Honolulu. Plus, the workers are just as friendly at this location as they are in other Trader Joe’s!

Descanso Gardens: Located at the base of Descasco Drive in La Canada, locals nick name this as the Huntington Gardens of the Foothills. The botanical gardens are coined as “limitless beauty”. They offer wonderful ways to participate at the Gardens whether it is grabbing a bite at Maple, the local restaurant or enjoying the summer concert series with the Pops. Visit their website of events to see all it offers: https://www.descansogardens.org/

Sakana Sushi & Grill: “Sakana is about simplicity, uniqueness, good value, good taste, along with great service and kid-friendly. The restaurant is a recession buster! Come and check our new atmosphere and see why our guests are our regulars.” (www.thesakana.com) Sakana Sushi & Grill is very popular among the locals—but don’t take our word for it: “What can I say I love Sakana sushi. They have some of the best quality fish around and I can always rely on getting good sushi from them. This is a great date night spot or a good spot to go to for lunch. On Fridays and Saturdays to even have live music, which is always nice to listen to.

La Cabanita: Right on Verdugo Road, this is a personal favorite authentic Mexican restaurant for our family. Be prepared of large plates with tasty mole! Make sure you check their hours of operation as they have changed recently.

Berolina Bakery & Pastry Shop: Owned and operated by Europeans since 1991, this is a local gem for fine breads, pastries, danish and traditional European desserts. They have also been voted many years in a row for Best Princess Cake! Don’t forget to grab a cup of coffee!
