Searcy AR cheerleaders Vani Geroy Merryl Walker

A lovely group

Vani Quattlebaum Geroy, on front row, far right, posted this photo of a group of 9th grade cheerleaders in Searcy Arkansas.  She gave me permission to put it on a blog. I know several of them and am sad to say that the girl on the front row, far left, has passed away.   Also, just this week, the tall girl in the center, back row, has passed away.  She was Merrell Walker, loved by all who knew her.  I know we'd all like to know the names of the other girls so hopefully, either Vani or a Searcy Sleuth will give us their names.

What an amazing picture that is, Barbara!  I was looking at my 4th grade class picture just last evening.  These kinds of photos are worth their weight in gold.

Myrl, I agree.  I love the old yearbooks and have quite a collection of them.  My little old school, however, way back then (Don't ask.  I don't tell.) didn't have a yearbook.  But I think they did take a class picture and sell it and my poor parents tried to buy them each year.   I do have a few pictures but not many.

Mona, yes, she passed away.  She has had Alzheimer's for quite a while.  Her obit is on line.  And thanks for the comment.
