Truckee was named the 5th safest city to live in California, a small city in the northeast part of the state away from major metropolitan areas. With a violent crime rate just over 1 per 1,000 and a similarly low property crime rate, Truckee earns its high position in the ranking.

As somebody who works in California about six months out of the year, I can say that these are definitely solid choices.
