Three Cheers for Poway Rotary!

Hello All

I just thought I would take a little time to say some things about the Poway Rotary.

First, as a disclaimer, I am a member of the Poway Rotary. But, I think they are sooo under noticed.

Here is a group of people that get together each week with a main purpose of making their local community better, pitching in with other rotary clubs to make the whole area better, and with Rotary International to make the world a little better.

Tell me, why is this not better known?  I just came from a Rotary meeting last week, where the speaker was from Uganda, telling how our club helped with developing schools and getting wells built, and improving sanitation and health conditions, not for just hundreds, but thousands of people. And yet hardly do you hear of Rotary. 

With the fires that Struck San Diego County last October, the Poway Rotary generated, collected and distributed a ton of money and aid to the victims. But more than just givng money, the members volunteer their time, and help spruce up senior citizens homes, they help feed the parents of children who are in the hospital by signing up to cook the meals at the Ronald McDonald house. Their is just so much good spirit in Rotary

Now, I have to be honest.  I joined Rotary to make connections and use as a network tool for my business.  That's was the main focus of Rotary I thought before I joined. But was I mistaken.

Inside Rotary, their is a group of people that not only have generous hearts, but truly try to make a difference with more than their pockets. And what makes it especially great is that they work at all levels.

The local community, the regional community and the International.  So that while they focus close to home, they also reach out to those far away who are looking to basics like clean water, sanitation, better medical, schooling and the ability to do some work.

So I say 3 cheers to Poway Rotary, and all Rotary. And if you never heard/thought about Rotary,

check it out. It is so much more than just a group of business people getting together for lunch or breakfast or whatever. It can connect you with great hearts and minds.
