Intense is good, especially today and going forward.

According to a study in Realtor.com, 47% of Realtors surveyed said Social Media was their best source for generating high-quality leads.

That's an amazing statistic. And it shows how important those platforms have become.

Here are some more facts.

  •  26% said they used social media to promote listings
  •  25% said social media helped them build or maintain relationships with existing clients
  •  21% had a social media account because they felt they were just expected to do so
  •  13% used social media to find new prospects
  • 5% reported they enjoyed using social media
  • 3% said they used the platforms to network with other agents

Real Estate Data API and other sources of content

Since agents rely so much on social media, this begs the question.

What do they post?

New listings are obviously one idea.

Here are a few more suggestions:

How about charts showing local market conditions?

Graphs indicating trends in Home Sales?

Charts showing the direction of Home Prices?

In different neighborhoods.

Maybe comparing one neighborhood to another.

With a Real Estate Data API (snippet of software that creates a pipeline to a national data provider) an agent can display hyper-local information about different neighborhoods on their website.

They can also use this valuable information for posts on social media

Create a teaser headline driving social users back to your website.

Or perhaps, ask them to sign up for your newsletter for a steady supply of market updates.

Maybe just use that local data to promote your name and brand as someone with local knowledge.

Other suggestions include:

  • Testimonials
  • Relevant advice, eg how to prepare your home to sell
  • Local neighborhood news, eg, a new store or restaurant coming to town (as you know popular local amenities help boost property values as well)
  • Facts about the town or city where you live
  • Local events

One of the great advantages of social media is that the use of these platforms is FREE.

(Although with paid social media advertising, you can reach out to more individuals and target them better).

But that free price can be deceiving.

Because it does cost time and the right tools to keep providing content posts of value.

Obviously, lots of people, not just real estate professionals, are busy promoting themselves on social media. It's a crowded space.

To stand out, look for different ways to provide content that stands out as well.
